The Chinese Embassy and Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation held the commissioning ceremony of the China-Guyana Friendship Pavilion

On May 3rd, the Chinese Embassy and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation jointly held the commissioning ceremony of the China-Guyana Friendship Pavilion. Permanent Secretary Amb. Harper hosted the ceremony. Ambassador Guo Haiyan and Guyanese Foreign Secretary Robert Persaud unveiled the plate. Former Foreign Minister Mr. Greenidge, Former Amb. to China Mr. Austin, Permanent Secretary of the MoPW Mr. Vladim Persaud, Head of the Guyana Association for Culture and Friendship with China Mr. Boyer, Economic and Commercial Counselor of the Embassy Mr. Hu Hanming attended. 

In her remarks, Ambassador Guo Haiyan said that last year, while celebrating the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Guyana, both sides agreed to build the first pavilion of traditional Chinese style in Guyana for commemoration. She is very happy that the government of Guyana has placed the pavilion in an important place, and sincerely hopes that more local people will be inspired to learn more about China and Chinese culture by this pavilion, as well as benefit more from bilateral pragmatic cooperation in the future.
