On March 26, H.E. Ambassador Guo Haiyan met with Clifton.A.Hicken, Commissioner of Police. Ambassador Guo lauded positively the long-term friendly cooperation between the Chinese Embassy and the Guyana Police, expressed her gratitude to the Guyana Police for their rapid investigation of the recent murder case of a Chinese citizen, and hoped the Guyana Police would take further practical measures to safeguard the safety of Chinese citizens and shops in Guyana. Hicken thanked the Chinese Embassy for its strong support for the Guyana police, praised the long-term good cooperation between the two sides, and said that additional protective measures will be adopted for Chinese citizens, especially Chinese shops. The two sides also had in-depth exchanges on further improving the safety and security of Chinese citizens.
